Dan Thompson - Founder & Executive Chairman150-DT

Dan is a successful entrepreneur who has started and developed a number of media businesses including Renegade Software (computer and video games publisher sold to Time Warner) and 365 Corporation PLC an internet and telephony company best known for its sports websites (Football 365, Cricket 365, Rugby 365, Planet Rugby, Planet F1). 365 Corporation went from start-up to flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 2 years, achieving a peak stock market valuation of approximately $1 billion. He recently stepped down as Chairman of VideoJug.com, the world's leading How To video site with 5 million monthly users.

Dan has also been a non-executive director and senior adviser to a number of companies in the media, technology and leisure sectors including Gamesys Ltd., World's End Television and Glassworks Ltd.

In addition to his business interests, Dan has been actively involved in the charity sector for some time. He has been Treasurer of Amnesty International UK and is currently Treasurer and Trustee at the Charity Technology Trust and a member of the Board of London Crimestoppers.

Dan created the Gold Challenge concept in early 2009 and gave up his non-executive and business activities to focus on Gold Challenge full time in September 2009.

 

Fiona Miller Smith - CEO

Fiona is an entrepreneur who has developed and sold a series of businesses in the media and communications sectors. These include The Company Agency, a strategic communications consultancy which works with senior figures in business, government and the not-for-profit sector, where she sold her stake at the end of 2008. Previously she was CEO of Interesource Limited

In 2009 she helped develop a couple of start-ups including a sports company and a green technology social enterprise, before joining Gold Challenge as COO in November 2009.

Her early career was as an analyst at Goldman Sachs International and investment director at Murray Johnstone Private Equity where she sat on a number of boards as a non-executive director.

 

JNJon Norledge - CTO

Jon has 20 years of technical management experience with Atari Inc., Virgin Interactive, 365 Corporation and many others. He has made a career out of managing content development for new platforms from the earliest computer games to the latest wireless technologies.

Before joining Gold Challenge as CTO in 2009, Jon worked as a consultant with clients including Crimestoppers (Most Wanted website), FindMyPast (Technical director) and Westminster PCT (electronic prescriptions).

 

 

James Douglas - Partnerships Manager150-JD

James is a passionate advocate for non-profit and business sector collaboration. He has spent the last 10 years as a Sales & Account Manager for a variety of different businesses and social enterprises. He formally joined the Gold Challenge team in September 2010.

 

 

 

 

Katie Legg - Partnerships ManagerKL-Updated-150

Katie has over four years' experience working in the sport and education sector. She started her career at Creating Excellence designing and managing a range of projects that use elite athletes to inspire sporting participation and behaviour change particularly in young people. This included Sport England's Sporting Champions and the Team England Footballers Charity Outreach Programme.

Before her work leading the Youth and Family Programme, Katie successfully established relationships with key NGBs across England, Scotland and Wales as Gold Challenge's Sporting Partnerships Manager, and worked closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to launch Gold Challenge in a number of international organisations' employee engagement programmes
