The Gold Challenge is currently working with Sport Northern Ireland to develop the Gold Challenge offering in Northern Ireland and provide participants with guidance about where to complete each sport.
Sport Northern Ireland is currently the leading agency for developing sport in Northern Ireland, describing their objective as a hope to encourage “a culture of lifelong enjoyment and success in sport which contributes to a peaceful, fair and prosperous society.
The corporation hopes to realize this vision through three main objectives:
- Increased participation in sport.
- Improved sporting performance.
- Improved administration of sport.
Developing programmes and partnerships, it's all about the three p's - participation, performance and places.
Sport Northern Ireland is based at the House of Sport in Belfast, and operates a National Outdoor Training Centre at the base of the Mourne Mountains -Tollymore National Outdoor Centre. Sport Northern Ireland also funds and manages the Sports Institute Northern Ireland (SINI), based at the Jordanstown campus of the University of Ulster.
Sport Northern Ireland is not only key in the training of future world athletes, but, like Gold Challenge, is an instituion which thinks sport is for everyone. Through managing places for sport, coaches, governing bodies, volunteers, events, marketing and promotion, Sport Northern Ireland promoting a strong ethos of lifelong physical activity among people of all ages and abilities, and we at Gold Challenge are thrilled to be a part of this aspiration.
